What is everyone doing tonight? You will have to comment and tell me all about it! I am traveling around seeing friends. No corsets and rhinestone stillettos for me tonight. (I think it’s strange too!) I will be sitting around visiting in my penguin jammies eating fudge, well maybe broccoli if I’m good.

Here’s a miracle for you! My daughter and I had a cat when she was little named Zipper. He ran away when we moved. Today, 5 years later, he returned. How amazing is that. To us, it was a miracle. I hope 2007 is a wonderfully prosperous year for you and those you love.

I am off in a huge snow/ice/storm to play my New Years Gig. Wish me luck!!!!!! Hope some brave souls will come out for it!! I am wearing a short plaid skirt, ( that now fits!!!!!!!) black tights, PLAID shoes ( kid you not! ) and lots of rhinestones!!!!

This weekend, besides having some really fun gigs with Paul Score, I learned a couple things that , I am certain, will improve my life dramatically. I have a new vacuum, which, I am certain, if I can only find the right button, will do things like my grocery shopping, and any laundry that might be lying around. The one thing I have not been able to get it to do is, right: vacuum. I now know that when checking the cup thing that the dirt and dust and whatever else it sucks up collects ( WHEN it sucks being the operative word ) it opens at the bottom, not the top, so that one can dump it right into the garbage. Or the floor. ALL over the floor, ( which was not getting vacuumed anyway ) and this, is handy info to know. Also, if you show it who is Boss by stomping harshly on the front, it will actually, uh, suck stuff up. Housekeeping has never been so interesting.

The other thing I learned, which has made my Holiday much more festive, is that I can now make my tv change from cable to DVD and back again. Sometimes I go back and forth just for the heck of it. Took me less than a week to figure it out. ( not bragging, just stating a fact.)

Ah, the magic of Xmas…….

I have also been reading and listening to a whole lot of Caroline Myss, which is having a huge impact on just about every part of my life, in all seriousness, can’t recommend her strongly enough, but I am thinking Malena knows much more about her writings and wisdom than I do at this point, and we might have to move over to her website for an indepth discussion, but trust me, the women knows of what she speaks. ( both Malena and Ms Myss ) It’s a good time of the year for some wisdom, change and knowlage.

I have to say, yet again, that playing with Lojo is more fun than a basket of kittens, truly. She is SO very good, and I learn so much every time I play with her. And I am certain that I laugh more each and every time I play with her. Neither one of us exactly has the NAMES of the keys down real well, so that makes for some little amusement. And she, ( much like playing with Johhny and Adam ) knows many of the same songs, only in different keys and a different style. We would be halfway thru a song sometimes before I not only figured out what key she was actually in, but that it was a song I had been playing for many many years.

As I said, we had a blast.

Another fun thing with Lojo is she plays in SERIOUSLY weird tunings on her guitar. I can generally follow a guitar player by watching their hands and looking at what chord they are playing. This ever so developed technique does not work with Ms Russo.

Again, we had a blast.

Thank you so much everyone who came down and packed this little club! Both nights were wonderful fun. ( Mr. Picture Guy, I’d love to see some shots! Maybe not the videos, but yes on the pictures! ) I am honestly say I am a better player than I was two days ago. It was like an 8 hour practice over two nights, with a room full of people cheering us on.

Paul Score and I are playing at Charlie’s on December 22 and 23 and also the 29, 30 and New Years Eve. ( Playing music I actually KNOW???? Sign me up! ) We haven’t played in a while now and I can’t wait to get back again. Tho I am sure we will have a few suprises for eachother…If you are looking for a wild, drunken, noise filled, crowded bash, well , go somewhere else for New Years. But if you want some really fun music and a bunch of friends, come and join us. We’ll try playing anything once. ( yes, we now know both Danny Boy and Freebird )

What else is fun? Our Malena seems to have gotten bit by the Holiday Spirit and is busy shopping and making things, ( crafty little thing that she is, ) and lots of wrapping, I hear . I myself am still waiting for the magic of the festive season. What are you all up to? Getting into the Spirit or laying back and taking it easy? Doing different things? Filled with Magic? The only shopping I have done so far I did months ago when I bought Malena a coat she coveted when she was here last summer from an antique store here in my town, and since I have already given it to her I am not sure it counts.

Right now I am mostly looking for ward to finishing this CD. We got another ” rough” from Chris today and he is most definitely going to be out here in January to do the final recording . ( brave man, Chris ) That may well be my Christmas.

Boy! Is Lorraine busy these days or what! This weekend she had a 2 night gig with Johnny in Mankado (sp?) That girl always sets the house on fire. I got to listen in on a song over the phone. Makes me miss her! Ahhhh! Fablo and Chris Ewen are planning to record some violin parts for the Hidden Variable album very soon. (I’m bummed I won’t be there) The album will be out this spring people! Wehoooooooooo!

Believe it or not, I will be modeling even MORE corsets soon.
(This is my Stern Teacher Look.) All I need is a ruler and a paddle. hee hee
I’m thinking of writing the Guinnes Book of World Records people for being the woman with the most corsets in all the world. Only Dita could match me. Maybe we should converse about the subject over dinner. I’m sure Marilyn loves mosters.

I’m doing readings again and working on my book. BTW, if you’ve been on my forum lately, I apologise about the spam. I delete it once a week, filthy demons. On a better note, My Mom sent me this enlightening video. Check it out! It helped my day go a little better.

Kitty meow is coming home for a short while. I can’t wait to see her. My twin will finally be home.
So, that is my uneventful update. I can’t wait for you to hear these new songs. Chris is a genius. We are so thankful for him.

Hello! Lorraine here tagging onto Malena’s post!

Mankato was a LOT of fun, I had never been down there before, but always wanted to. Betsy Tacy Land! We got to spend Saturday doing a walking tour of Betsy’s House and Tacy’s and getting to see all the places from the books, which are STILL among my favourites!

( if you have no idea what I am talking about, you are missing out on some wonderful turn of the century history! )
